Seven of the 10 counties with the highest median incomes for white households in 2019 were located in and around the nation’s capital, according to a Social Explorer analysis of newly released 2015-19 American Community Survey data. Falls Church, Va., which has the second-highest median household income in the U.S., reported a typical income for a white household of $144,201; Loudoun, Va., which has the highest income in the nation, was good to white people, too, with earnings of $142,336.
San Francisco County ranked third for whites, with median household income of $140,437. North Slope Borough, Alaska, was sixth at $132,500, and San Mateo County, Calif., where the typical white household brings home $127,921, was 10th – not quite twice the national median income of $66,536 for whites.
