Where in the U.S. is the Gender Pay Gap Most Pronounced?

The typical male working full-time in the U.S. earned $1.25 for every $1 earned by a woman, according to a Social Explorer analysis of 2015-19 American Community Survey data. Men outearned women in 3,103 of 3,142 U.S. counties.

The 10 most unequitable counties were all located west of the Mississippi River, led by Terrell County, Texas. Men in the West Texas border county earned $2.57 for every $1 made by women. The county was followed by Daggett County, Utah ($2.43), on the Wyoming border, and McMullen County, Texas ($2.29), south of San Antonio.
