U.S. Households Receiving Retirement Income

TUESDAY, JUL 21, 2020

If you had to pick neighborhoods with the highest percentage of households receiving retirement income, you might start in Florida. But you’d be better off looking at Census tracts in Maricopa County, Ariz., or Williamson County, Texas, which have eight of the 12 neighborhoods with most households earning retirement income, according to newly released American Community Survey data.

The 2014-18 survey results show a tract in Maricopa has 69.2 percent of its 1,787 households receiving some type of pension, the highest percentage in the nation. To examine Census tracts with high percentages of retirement income, check out table B19059 at TractIQ. Social Explorer map here.
