When we think of U.S. counties with transitory populations, a few places come to mind: New York. Washington, D.C. Las Vegas. But a Social Explorer analysis of data compiled by Easy Analytic Software Inc. finds six of the seven counties with the fewest long-time residents are in warm-weather climates, with Denali Borough, halfway between Anchorage and Fairbanks, the only exception.
Assigning a value of 100 to the U.S., only seven counties were given a score of zero. Besides Denali, counties with fewest long-time residents included Flagler and Osceola, Fla.; and a quartet of sparsely populated counties, including Kalawao, Hawaii; Esmeralda, Nev.; Storey, Nev.; and Loving, Texas.
