New 2013-2017 American Community Survey Now Available!

THURSDAY, DEC 20, 2018

The Census Bureau's newly released five-year American Community Survey (ACS) dataset is now available on SocialExplorer.com. Subscribers can access the new data through both maps and reports. Explore the latest data in over 200 tables on dozens of topics.

The ACS is an extensive annual survey administered by the Census Bureau to a sample of about three million households nationwide. The data includes variables on income, race, ancestry, health insurance, housing, commute time and more. This year, the ACS also includes three new variables: internet access, computer type, and internet subscription type. For example, you might live in one of the 92,882,738 million households (78.2 percent of all households) with a desktop or laptop looking at this blog post right now.

This latest five-year ACS release (2013-2017) is available for geographic areas down to the census tract level and census block group level (where available), offering richly detailed demographic data. (The one-year ACS 2017 estimates are also available on the site.)
