Almost 5 million Americans who fall into the job category that the Census Bureau describes as “health support occupations” are on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the biggest concentrations are found in Census tracts around Brooklyn, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, where between 30 and 40 percent of adults are supporting health care professionals.
