Enrolled Students Across the U.S.

TUESDAY, SEP 22, 2020

Barely one-quarter of U.S. schoolchildren reported having contact with their teacher for four days or more during the last two weeks of August, according to a Social Explorer analysis of the Census Bureau’s experimental Household Pulse Survey. Only 1 percent of children in West Virginia, where school began Sept. 8, spent almost an entire week with teachers; more than 72 percent of Arizona schoolchildren, who began school as early as Aug. 3, had spent four or more days with instructors.
