Change in Median Household Income in the Past Decade

The Bay Area and the nation’s capital have jockeyed for the highest median household income for much of the last decade, followed by the usual suspects: Boston, Seattle, and Bridgeport, Conn., to name a few. The newly released 2019 American Community Survey, however, introduces a new wealth center: The Heber, Utah, micropolitan area, where the median household income of $99,265 trails only Washington ($105,659), San Francisco ($114,696), and San Jose ($130,865).
